Creep, Fatigue, and Weld Analysis for Expander Redesign
The project involved a comprehensive thermo-mechanical and weld integrity evaluation of a modified expander design. The scope included geometry and weld modeling, thermal and structural FE simulations, as well as creep, fatigue, and secondary stress assessments. The workflow was executed in Ansys using user-defined material properties.
- Steady-state thermal analysis
- Structural elastic analysis
- Creep & fatigue analysis
- Detailed analysis of fixation pins
- Detailed evaluation of casing support lugs
- Assessment of bolt preload loss due to bearing stress under bolt heads
- Flange tightness evaluation before and after creep
