Strength and Fatigue Assessment of Steel Structures, Pressure Vessels, and Welded and Bolted Joints
The projects involve the numerical analysis and verification of steel structures such as profiles, sheet metal assemblies, pressure vessels, flange connections, bolted joints, and welded seams. The evaluations include strength, stiffness, and fatigue assessments based on applicable standards (e.g., Eurocode 3, FKM, EN 13445, AD 2000, ASME), using finite element simulations to ensure compliance, reliability, and structural performance under mechanical and thermal loading.
- Static and fatigue analysis of steel profiles and sheet metal assemblies
- Strength assessment of welded joints under mechanical and thermal loading (various concepts like notch stress, structural stress,..)
- Evaluation of flange and bolted connections, including preload loss and gasket behavior
- Application of Eurocode 3, FKM Guideline, and other relevant standards
- Typical load cases: dead weight, wind, buckling, assembly, earthquake, …
- Support for design optimization and code-compliant documentation
