Structural Analysis of Sheet Metal Structures under Operating and Special Load Cases according to EN 13445, Eurocode, and FKM
Comprehensive structural assessments were performed for various sheet metal components, covering all relevant operational and special load cases. The evaluations included both static and dynamic loading conditions — such as explosion, wind, earthquake, vacuum loads, and different assembly and lifting scenarios. The verification was carried out in accordance with applicable standards, including DIN EN 13445-3 (e.g., elastic-plastic analysis), Eurocode (load definitions, seismic and wind loads), and the FKM guideline (strength and fatigue). The objective was to ensure structural integrity even under exceptional loading scenarios.
- Explosion Load Case — Verification of structural integrity under dynamic pressure rise
- Vacuum Load Case — Stability assessment using geometrically and materially nonlinear analysis with imperfections (GMNIA) according to DIN EN 13445-3, Annex B
- Seismic and Wind Load Cases — Compliance with Eurocode standards considering site-specific boundary conditions such as wind zone, terrain category, and seismic acceleration factors
- Assembly Load Case — Load-bearing verification for crane lifting, considering sling angle, ambient temperature, and rope deflection on flanges; including verification of lifting lugs, stiffeners, and bolted joints
- Verification of Bolted and Welded Joints — Static and fatigue assessments according to DIN EN 13445-3, Eurocode, and FKM guideline
